The challenge: Add space, and get rid of the bland 1950s cape cod look.
The solution: Remove the roof, build a full second storey house addition. Three bedrooms, oversized windows, a bathroom, large closet space, and a private den accessed through the master bedroom. A full width porch provides a social connection to the neighbourhood.
The result: A stunning transformation into a craftsman style house that has become, in the words of a neighbour "the talk of the neighbourhood".
